We Hunted and We Gathered

Last weekend, Luke's parents kept the babies on Friday night.  Saturday morning we woke up at 5 am and headed out to the country to do some goose hunting.  I love waterfowl hunting.  It was dark when we got there, but day was starting to break.  We (very quietly) walked down to the pond and sat down. It is an undescribable experience to sit by water and watch the world wake up.  The fog rising off the water, the colors of the sky changing over the reflections, the sun coming up, hearing the birds waking up, and especially hearing the geese start honking.  And then the real thrill is when the geese fly, and you watch your man take one down.  It is so refreshing to be in nature and experience all that it has to offer.  We can't wait to go again!!
Reflection of the trees over the pond at daybreak
The sunrise over the pond, and the reflection on the water.
Reeds and grass at the waters edge.
Next up on the blog: Pirducken!  (Give you a hint, there was goose meat in the meal for supper that night, and it was to be talked about!)
